There are number of reasons why you might want to login to iDiscover. Logging gives you access to your MyLibrary account, enables functionality that allows you to recall loans and request items, save and view your search history and allow you to access eresources without having to login again.

However, you should be aware that this is not actually required, if you only wish to access eresources. You can simply use the search facility in iDiscover (without logging in) and then enter your RAVEN credentials when prompted to do so by the resource you are trying to access.

Access to eresources is dependent on certain permissions being present on your RAVEN/University credentials and not membership of the library - which in some cases may not have been setup.

Any issues accessing eresources should always be reported to raven@lib.cam.ac.uk in the first instance.
