Access to eresources is possible via your device, through wireless hotspots that are available throughout the University.

From April 2024 the Wi-Fi network for non-members of the University will change.

  • The UniOfCam Wi-Fi network will be switched over to UniOfCam-Guest Wi-Fi network.
  • You’ll create your new login, when you are ready, using the information and links emailed to you. (Simply contact us if you need any help, details below.)

Your new login will allow access to the Library’s computers, UniOfCam-Guest Wi-Fi, printing, photocopying and scanning, logging in to iDiscover to request material, and subscription e-resources while you are on site.

Once you have your new Library login, connect to UniOfCam-Guest Wi-Fi using the 'Library Reader' button. This will give you access to the Wi-Fi and Library e-resources. If you are a visitor from a university, college or other institution supporting Eduroam and have configured your laptop as instructed by your local computing or information service then it should automatically connect to our wireless network as soon as you open a browser. The advantages of eduroam are that you do not need to obtain a UniOfCam wireless ticket and access is available so long as you are affiliated with your home institution.

It is recommended that University of Cambridge users configure their wireless device to use Eduroam rather than UniOfCam-Guest. This is because access to some electronic titles is not permitted through UniOfCam for network security reasons.  For help on setting up Eduroam and specific instructions for different devices, please visit Wifi access: eduroam
