Under the terms of the Legal Deposit Libraries Act of 2003 and the Legal Deposit Libraries (Non-Print Works) Regulations 2013 access to electronic legal deposit material may only be provided to readers “on library premises controlled by the deposit library”. Access in the University of Cambridge is currently available on dedicated PCs in the University Library (six in the main Reading Room) and in most of its Affiliated Libraries. Printing within copyright limits (e.g. one article from an issue of a journal, one chapter or 10% of a book) is allowed from electronic legal deposit material. However, downloading or photography is not permitted under the legislation. For further information, including a list of affiliated libraries with designated PCs and printing facilities, click here.
